Astyanax never hung around the mansion much recently. He had Aphrodite had been weird since she took the side of the Dragomir king, he didn't know how someone could show the enemy such compassion. Although, Astyanax was willing to accept his mate's beliefs and wasn't stupid enough to fuck things up after so long. He had been away from her long enough, thousands of years was more than Astyanax could handle and in meeting her again he felt the ice around his unbeating heart melt. He could've sworn she made it beat once more.

Astyanax's Mustang had roared down the desolate street where his mansion was located and he growled quietly as he loosened the tie around his neck. He had been hunting a vampire for a few days now and after killing his wife only days before Astyanax was set on moving in to take the target. He'd move in around a day or two and that would rid the world of another secret exposer. The vampire community did not need weaklings like that exposing the secrets of their eternal power and greatness.

When he finally reached the mansion, he pulled the car into the garage and then killed the engine. After leaving the keys in the ignition he sat there for a short second before his massive body climbed from the driver seat. After twisting the knob open to the back door in the garage he stepped inside the house and moved through it slowly. For once he felt like moving slowly. When his feet finally took him to his spacious office he fell down into the elaborate leather chair and ran his hands over his face.

With a large sigh through his nose, he finally undid the tie around his neck and tossed it to the side and then unbuttoned the white shirt he wore and tossed it onto the couch against the wall. Astyanax then flexed his muscular, tattoo covered arms above his head and settled them down on the desk afterwards. Once he had settled himself in the chair, he pushed his dark black sunglasses to rest atop his head and then hit the power button to his laptop and watched it come to life.

Astyanax hadn't bothered to check for Aphrodite when he got home, if she was here, she'd come to him. That was how it was, he never wanted to look needy.

When Aphrodite heard Astyanax enter the large mansion she now called home, she sighed. There had been a certain distance between them since she had sided with the Dragomir King, Toryn during Astyanax's capture of the vampire. It wasn't that Aphrodite didn't support her man, it was more or less because she didn't believe anyone should treat another vampire so ruthlessly, no matter what the cause. After all, Toryn had done nothing wrong but be a good and faithful king to his people. If he wanted to marry a human girl, then so be it. Besides, he would have to turn the girl sooner or later anyways so what did it matter?

After rising from her spot on her bed, she ran her left hand through her long, caramel colored hair and flipped it over one of her shoulders as she made her way down the long, spiral staircase. Astyanax never came up to see her when he got home, it was just the way her man was. She always came searching for him though she didn't know why. Someday she wanted to sit upstairs and wait. Wait to see how long it would take him and if he would ever come up to find her.

Once Aphrodite had made it to Astyanax's office, she tapped lightly on the door frame with her knuckles, even though the door was open. "Hey," She murmured quietly as she stepped inside the doorway before making her way across the room to slide up on top of the edge of his desk. After crossing her legs, she placed a hand on the edge of his face, near his chin and moved his gaze towards her instead of the computer screen.

"How was your day, my love?"

"Simple, borning, uneventful, taken your pick, Aphrodite." Astyanax said as his fingers stopped typing on the keyboard and instead he moved one of his large hands to the sunglasses on his head and he placed them down on the desk. After he had done that he moved his hand back to his body and folded his arms over his chest. Astyanax wasn't the best man when it came to communication. He could rally men like no other and he could deliver a speech that could impress the masses, but when it came to love and Aphrodite he found himself speechless. It was an odd feeling, one he felt in a very long time.

"How about yours?" Astyanax asked her as his dark eyes moved to lock on her face. "I thought you mentioned you were going to Portland today for a shopping trip." He added and then unfolded his arms to run his hand along the back of his neck, though once he was done rubbing his neck he just kept his hand there and moved his eyes to stare at the tattoo on the inside of his bicep.

Aphrodite let her hand fall back to her lap and she diverted her gaze elsewhere. She had long forgotten Astyanax's stubborn ways when it came to matters of the heart. He never spoke his true feelings and was often uncomfortable with Aphrodite doing so as well. "I was going to but didn't feel like it," Aphrodite said with a small shrug of her shoulders before sliding off of his desk and walking around to the front of it. Like any typical woman, Aphrodite hated tension in their relationship and was determined to set it straight right now.

"Asty, I know you're still angry with me for showing compassion to Toryn but you should know by now, that I had that trait in life, why would I not carry it over to this life as well?" Aprhodite brought her dark chocolate colored eyes to Astyanax's face, frowning greatly. "I'm sorry if I just don't hold the same...beliefs as you do."

Astyanax chuckled quietly as he pulled his hand from his neck and let both of his large hands ball into tight fists. I know you're still angry with me? That didn't even partially cover it! Astyanax wanted someone who would stick by his side and Aphrodite picked the side of the traitorious swine who deserved to die by his hand. Astyanax was the man who rid the world of vampire scum who did not appreciate the gift they were given. This truly was a gift.

"Right, how could I forget." Astyanax started and trail off, a certain glare in his eyes. "You said the same exact thing to me the morning I killed your cousin. Then I let you leave with your uncle, showing you the only thing I ever showed you, compassion and you left without a damn word! And then I raid the most strongly defended city on the Aegean for you and die in the process!" Astyanax barked and quickly rose from his feet. With a loud roar that resmbled that of a lion's he flipped the wooden desk in front of him.

With another growl he moved around to where she stood and let his hand grip her face roughly. "I won't die for a Trojan whore this time around." Astyanax spat in a harsh tone and threw her to the ground before he exited the office, slamming the door behind him.

Aphrodite was more than a little taken aback by how Astyanax had just reacted to a simple conversation. While she had remembered his temper problems from before, never had she imagined them this severe. Once she had recomposed herself, Aphrodite rose to her feet shakily and glanced around. Her face was a little sore so she rubbed it delicately with her fingertips, around the jaw. However, Aphrodite wasn't going to give up this easily, he had to see her side of things. Besides, she couldn't believe he was bringing up the past like that.

Aphrodite quickly exited his office and followed him outside where he had moved to. "Astyanax!" She shouted, walking right up to him, the pain evident in her eyes as she stared at him. "Is that how you really feel about me? That you died for a...a trojan...whore?" Aphrodite had never been spoken to like that from him. He had never spoke of regretting all he did for her and it hurt to hear that now, now after they had been reunited. "Because I never...asked you to die for me, Astyanax so I'm sorry if that was inconvient for you."

"Don't you ever raise your voice to me, you fucking cunt!" Astyanax barked and let his hand swiftly smack across her face. "Learn your fucking place in my God damn house or get the fuck out." He ordered in the same, loud tone and then turned away from her. He refused to be treated like that by a woman and felt that she obviously had no respect for him if she was going to talk to him in that sense. With a loud clear of his throat he waited for her decision, right now he didn't care either one that she picked. His love for Aphrodite had been blinded by his anger and jealousy for sometime now.

Aphrodite quickly brought her hand to her face when she felt the sting of Astyanax's hand across her face. She could taste blood on the corner of her mouth and though she wanted to cry from the pain, she held it back. Eyes wide, Aphrodite stared at him long and hard. "You're not the same Astyanax I knew, not the same man I fell in love with," She choked out as she turned away from him and headed inside to pack her things. If he wanted her out, then she would just leave. She couldn't stand the thought that he had changed so much after all they had been through. Did he really have to act like this when they had just been reunited?

Astyanax waited until she had gone back into the house and then yelled loudly before he flipped the glass patio table. As the glass shattered he angerily moved through it and then stepped into the garage. The lights were off and the doors were closed placing the garage in total darkness. Astyanax knew he needed to calm down before trying anything and so he slid down against the work bench and placed his head in his hands. He truly did love Aphrodite, she was and would always be the only one for him. But Astyanax had a serious jealousy problem and the moment she took Toryn's side set something off in his head. He couldn't handle that, anything but that. With a loud sigh through his nose he slowly began to bang his head against the metal work bench, angry at himself more than anyone else.

Aphrodite, after deciding she didn't want to take anything with her, stormed out the back door of Astyanax's home, furious. She was so upset and angry with him at the same time. At that moment in time, Aphrodite felt as if he no longer loved her, as if he regretted all they had been through in their lifetime together. She couldn't stand the thought that he hated dying for her, that he had called her a whore, and worst of all that he regretted everything they stood for.

After making her way out of the home she had been sharing with Astyanax, Aphrodite made her way through the forest, just wanting to be alone. She just had to think about so many things at once and right now all she wanted was to have complete silence.
